St. Patrick
A belated Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all! Patrick and I spent the day with my 100% Irish mother, going out to lunch and checking out the mall. Patrick wore his special Old Navy tee and green rainboots, which seemed to attract comments everywhere we went.

Patrick got a new apron from Nana and Bapa, how cute is this?

Shutterbug
Today Patrick learned how to use the digital camera. He didn't quite get which direction he should be pointing the lens so there were many, many pictures of his face. And many pictures of Elmo :)

This afternoon Patrick had a playdate with his friend Calvin. They jumped on the couch, played with balls and rode "bikes" in the kitchen.

And I was struck by how old Patrick looks in this picture. He's definitely looking like a little boy which makes me a little sad.

And finally, some pictures from yesterday. We went to the Children's Discovery Museum with Jo Ann (and her mommy). Patrick and Jo Ann had a blast, especially in the water play area. For some reason Patrick is afraid (like screaming meltdown afraid) of the waterproof smocks they provide. So instead I brought a change of clothes. As you can tell from the photo, that was a good thing!

Let It Snow!
We went on a snow hunt this morning. I had read that it snowed 3 inched on Skyline this morning so we were anxious to see what it looked like. Patrck had a haircut appointment at 9:45 so we left as soon as he was done and didn't get up to Skyline until about 11. Most of the snow was gone and Patrick was completely unimpressed. He wouldn't even put his feet down on it. It was still very cold (anout 35 degrees) so we looked for a minuted then headed back home. So much for our big snow adventure.

Catching Up
Random thoughts...
It's cold! So cold it snowed in San Jose today! It snowed in San Francisco too! Sadly we just got some wet hail. It is supposed to be cold again tonight so who know what the morning will bring? I'm crossing my fingers for a little snow so Patrick can see it. Doesn't he look ready?

We had another interesting week. On Monday Patrick threw up all over a friend's nice tan carpeting. I have no idea what happened, it just sort of came out of nowhere. Sadly, Patrick had has raisins and olives a few hours earlier. That was pretty nasty. He was totally fine the next day. Go figure.
This week we went to visit Uncle Nick for lunch. Nick works for the same company that I used to work for (I recruited him!). It was odd to be back after 2 years, I hardly recognized anyone. I did see one of my former clients who stopped to say hi and ask what I was doing because she hadn't seen me around in forever. I told her I quit 2 years ago. Oops.

Ocean View
About a week ago Patrick saw something on TV that showed whales breaching. Ever since then he's been talking about whales. Every day he asks to go to the beach or ocean to see the "whawes". He wants Nana and Bapa to take him. At Christmas Tom's parents gave Patrick a beautiful wooden puzzle with his name on it and the puzzle has several whales on it. I bought it out for him today and showed him the whales. He just kept saying "Oh no. Oh no. Oh no.". Close but no cigar I guess.
