Little Molly is already 4 months old! Well, technically she turned 4 months last Friday but she had her 4 month visit with the pediatrician today. Molly is continuing along her stellar growth curve. Here's the official stats...Weight: 15 pounds, 12 ounces (90th percentile)Height: 25.25 inches (90th percentile)Head: 42 cm (75th percentile)And just for comparison, Patrick was 13 lbs, 14 oz at 4 months and the exact same height. But he was somewhere in the 25-50th percentiles (I forget which one was which). She continues to be a completely delightful baby, sleeping well at night and rarely crying, but only as long as she has the same routine and is at home. So it makes it a little hard because Patrick prefers to be out and about and has school and playdates to attend. She's just not one of those babies that will nap anywhere. Oh well, I still think she's pretty cool ;)
Patrick starts school on Thursday, he's at the same school this year. Apparently 3 years on the wait list at Bing is not long enough :P But honestly, I would have been a little torn if he had gotten into Bing because he's really happy at his current school and it's much closer to home. Cute school pictures to come!
I've been feeling a little overwhelmed lately as Patrick seems to have a case of the "fidgets" according to his preschool teacher. I needed a change of scenery so Tom took us up to San Francisco today for a little retail therapy. I haven't been shopping in Union Square in what seems like ages and we had a blast! We checked out the new San Francisco Center and the new Bloomingdale's. It was nice, but in my mind it will never match the old Emporium. When I was a kid, they had a rooftop carnival every year around Christmas. Not only did they have rides, but Santa was there! My mom would take us up to the city every year to go shopping and to see the carnival. It always seemed like an exotic and glamorous trip even though San Francisco was less than 30 miles away. We always dressed up and made a special day of it. So I made Tom pose with the kids in front of the Emporium sign, it made me nostalgic for my childhood and I hope that my kids will someday have really special memories like that.
Notice how Patrick had to be bribed into sitting in the stroller with a bag of M&Ms? He is really not a fan of the stroller, but walking back up Stockton Street was going to be much easier without worrying about him getting lost in the crowds so we did what we had to do :) And retail therapy does a body and soul good. Tom bought me a beautiful new handbag, and we got Molly and Patrick some fall clothes. I even found the most perfect French dress for Molly for Thanksgiving, it was from last fall so it was on sale for 70% off. I might have cried a little it was so perfect.
Tonight I took a bath and used every one of my nice smelly bath products (thanks Mary K!). I'm feeling refreshed. Let's see how long this lasts, lol!
A few people have commented lately about how much Molly looks like Patrick. So I was going through some pictures and there are definite similarities. Here they both are at about 3.5 months, Patrick on the left and Molly on the right. What do you think?
I was looking for something in a cabinet tonight and came across these old pictures, the first one is me as a baby and the second one is Tom. It struck me how much Molly looks like Tom as a baby. I remember thinking the same thing about Patrick so maybe they do look alike.
I showed Tom this post and he asked how old Patrick was in the second picture (rolling my eyes here!). And he said he thought in my baby picture I looked like my Uncle Dan, which I sort of do!
