Puppy Love

Is there anything cuter than a boy and his dog? Ella loves to follow Patrick around and she sneaks him lots of kisses whenever she can. Louie still seems pretty annoyed with Patrick but sometimes he lets Patrick pet him. Patrick is very gentle, it is so cute. Last week he starting petting another baby in his playgroup!

Here is Ella watching over Patrick today

I couldn't resist posting a picture of this little punk rocker after his bath

How Cute Can You Be?

Another busy weekend, lots of pictures, yada yada yada. Here are a few of my favorites...

Hello

Patrick had his first spontaneous wave today! He started waving to people in the mall as we were strolling by, a few people were kind enough to wave back. Patrick's other new trick is shaking his head back and forth when I say "no". Now I think he thinks "no" is a command to shake his head and not to stop what he is doing. Oops.

In other news, Patrick had his 9 month well baby appointment yesterday. He weighed in at 18 pounds, 6 ounces (25th percentile), measured 28 inches (50th percentile) and his head was something crazy like 48 centimeters (95th percentile). All of his percentiles have remained the same since birth, he's a consistent little bugger! I'm hoping he doesn't end up a skinny, average height adult with a ginourmous head!

Funny Valentine

Before Patrick was born I swore I would never do things like this. Then he arrived and I lost all my common sense. I took Patrick in to have his picture taken at the Picture People because they had some great coupons for Valentine's Day. Tom was not at all thrilled with the cupid picture. I think Patrick looks adorable :)

Desert Sand

We're back from Scottsdale! Tom had long days with his conference but Patrick and I had lots of fun and played! We went shopping and found some adorable little shops thanks to some tips from a friend. Last night we had dinner at Kierland Commons which is almost exactly like Santana Row. The weather was nice (but cooler than normal), the flight home today was pretty uneventful. Patrick still squirmed a lot but we had an empty seat between us that gave us some extra room. I guess you can't bring the car seat on the plane unless you buy a ticket.

We think Patrick has learned to wave hello and goodbye. Of course we think it is completely adorable.

Pictures at the hotel...

Patrick in the seat only lasted for about 2 minutes. He figured out how to squirm out of the seatbelt!

Rocket Man

Patrick had his first airplane ride today! We're in Scottsdale, AZ, a short 90 minute flight from San Jose. We didn't buy Patrick a seat since the flight was "so short". We were on a pretty full plane and ended up sitting in a full bulkhead row. Patrick squirmed like CRAZY almost the entire flight. He wanted to tear apart the Sky Mall catalog (eventually we just let him) and drink my Diet Coke (didn't let him do that one!). We're flying to Kauai in May and I am already dreading the 5 1/2 hour flight! I guess a squirmy baby is better than a crying baby!

My Best Friend

The great thing about Patrick's new LeapStart Learning Table it has lots of toys so more than one person can play with it. Or one person and a dog. Or two dogs. Or whatever.

Golden Ribbons

Patrick is getting quite adventuresome. Yesterday he crawled to the end table where a little basket sits on the bottom. He proceeded to pull the basket out, take the heavy wooden lid off, and pull everything out of the basket (it had some random things in it including ribbons). He found one of those "eggs" of curling ribbon that had never been opened and he wanted to clutch it all day like a new best friend. Around bedtime, he was sitting in his pack n play with his new friend and he discovered that you could pull the ribbon out of the egg. 30 seconds later we had the following scene...

Who knew a roll of ribbon could be so much fun? Too bad mean mom took it away!

What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?

Patrick was an absolute dream baby on New Year's Eve! We went to a party at Chris and Gina's house and I was sure Patrick would be completely cranky or have a melt down. He was still awake at 9pm, so we changed him in to his PJs, fed him and drove home. He fell asleep in the car and Tom was able to carry him inside and put him right down in his crib. Amazing! We celebrated the actual New Year at home in the living room.
