Spit It Out
Patrick enjoyed a dinner tonight that started off with green beans. He figured out half way through the serving that if you blow raspberries when Mom puts food in your mouth, you can send it spraying. The first time he did this I laughed (I couldn't help myself). Patrick thought that was hilarious and subsequently sprayed every bite I fed him.

Here he is mid-spray

What will that funny kid think of next?

Strange Voyage
We're back from Texas! Patrick now has his own frequequent flyer number now. Unfortunately we were on a flight without the "extra leg room" and the seat in front of Patrick was the perfect distance for him to kick. The gentleman sitting in the seat was not the least bit amused and it is kind of hard to get a 10 month old to stop moving.
We were gone over Valentine's Day, Patrick and I enjoyed a nice lunch out (could I have asked for a better Valentine?).

I'd been to Dallas numerous times, but never ventured too far beyone DFW. When I worked at Sun I used to go to meetings at the hotel that is within the airport so I never saw too much. This time I had a chance to see Dallas and the surrounding area and I've decided that Texas is strange. Let me take you on a photo journey if I may. Please excuse the photo quality as these snapshots were taken from a moving car.
Reason #1 Texas is strange...they have wacky billboards. For a red state they sure have a LOT of "gentleman's clubs" advertised along the highway.

Reason #2 Texas is strange...the traffic lights are sideways. What's up with that?

Reason #3 Texas is strange...you have to pay to use some of the roads (see my rant below). It cost me $2.25 to go 15 miles on the tollway.

Reason #4 Texas is strange...which president is this road named after? GWB or GHWB? I think they kept it generic to please both.

Reason #5 Texas is strange...Dallas is home of the "grassy knoll".

Case closed.

Deep In The Heart Of Texas
Greetings from Dallas, Texas. Patrick and I are having fun playing while Tom is attending the HIMSS conference. Today we ventured north on the Dallas Tollway which was a very strange experience. You have to stop every few miles and pay anywhere from $.40 to $.75. You also pay when you get on the Tollway and again when you get off the Tollway. The whole thing was stressful, it made me miss our crazy California FREEways. I took a bunch of pictures but can't post anything until we get home.
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!

Happy Feet
Patrick dances! It's just about the cutest thing ever. He will dance when the music comes on on his Learning Table or his Laugh & Learn Puppy.
Does anyone know how to upload a digital movie file to a website? I use Photobucket for my pictures but they don't take movie files. I need to share this with the world! :)

Smile Please
Patrick had his 9 month portraits taken today (I know, a little late) and he wasn't feeling very well. He cried a bit and was generally pretty pouty which is very unlike him. Click here to see the entire gallery. My favorite pic is the one below. Even cranky he's still a cutie pie.

Rainy Days and Mondays
If rainy days and Mondays get me down what does a rainy Monday do? We had beautiful weather last week, it hit 70+ degrees a few days, but today was a bust. I'm still getting over my cold and I feel pretty crummy. But enough about me! Patrick is feeling fine, and I'm convinced he has spoken his first words. On three seperate occasions last week, Patrick squealed out "dada" when Tom came through the front door. No fair :(
Patrick has a new face he likes to make. He smiles this huge silly grin and squints his eyes (just like mommy does when she smiles). He's a goofy kid, but I think we'll keep him!

On My Own
I haven't been able to capture a picture of it yet, but Patrick has been starting to stand (very briefly) without support. He's also just beginning to cruise, walking while holding on to furniture. We put the coffee table in storage a few weeks ago (along with a bunch of stuff from the house in preperation for the remodel) so Patrick has resorted to cruising along in his crib. Happy Friday!
